BRCC U-16 Girls made it two wins from two for the season on Wednesday night, as they crushed a young Otley side by 99 runs.

Notable batting and bowling performances from Florence Haines and MVP Naomi Pratt, backed up by great fielding performances and committment from all the players ensured that the team's 100% record remained intact in the most convincing fashion.

In a game played in the very best of spirits, helped in no small part by the very positive attitude and support of the Otley ladies, Ben Rhydding showed their supporters just what a good side they are becoming.

Captain Danielle Dudley lost  the toss and was asked to bat.  Despite the loss of the early wicket of Robyn Braithwaite, a mixture of classy shot selection and wayward bowling from the Otley attack got the innings off to a brisk start.  Rhydding continued to dominate with vital contributions from last weeks batting stars, Captain Dudley and Chloe Dinsdale as well as maximums from Haines and Pratt.

BRCC closed their innings on a huge 123-3 from their 20 overs.

Otley's ladies never looked like getting anywhere near their target and their young side, shorn of some of their more experienced players, with one or two exceptions.

Fearsome pace bowling from Naomi Pratt ripped through the Otley upper order leaving her with figures of 3-6 and the Otley middle order in disarray.  The pace and bounce of seamer Emmy Bryant was also used to great effect, yielding her two wickets.  Ben Rhydding kept things very tight in the field throughout the Otley reply and looked a much sharper unit than in the previous week against Pannal.  The skill and guile of slow bowlers Florence Haines and Chloe Dinsdale kept the Otley batters tied down at either end and restricted the Otley total to 24 all out, Dinsdale taking two wickets and Haines ending with remarkable figures of 3-1.

Another terrific win for the ladies, but a much sterner challenge awaits as they welcome Pool ladies to Coutances Way next Thursday.  BRCC will need to reproduce this form again next week if they are to remain undefeated in what will undoubtedly be a very difficult fixture.  However, the management and coaching staff remain confident that this outstanding group of young ladies have the drive and talent to prevail.
