Ben Rhydding are currently lying 2nd in the Nidderdale Ladies Cricket League table after 2 games.
The first game of the season (v Pool) was to be played at Old Mods ground at Cookridge. The team met at Ben Rhydding where there was a very light rainfall as the cars were loaded up. On the drive to the ground, the rain got steadily heavier - almost monsoon-like on arrival. Much to the grounds man's delight the game was called off. Returning to BRCC we found the under 17's game being played. Still 2 points 'won'.
Second game looked like we had a strong team ready to play Glasshouses but they had to call off the game as they played and won a Cup game earlier that week and couldn't raise another team.
Disappointment for us but another 4 points for a conceded game!
Hopefully this week's game v Pannal will be played (they are 3rd in league) will go ahead as next week's game is cancelled due to the withdrawal from the league of Bilton Ladies CC.
